I'm a storyteller and lover of people who happens to have a deep passion for music and rhythm. I feel a primordial need to communicate through drumming and feel that it's one of the few things that connects all of us as human beings that is natural and can't be weaponized. I love helping people get out of their comfort zones and have found that my natural ability and desire to perform and play makes that easy. Outside of my love for music, I love being outdoors, specifically on a boat or on a snowy mountain.

I've been drumming for 18 years and have taught and facilitated in many different ways for most of that time. I've developed a yoga and meditation practice, called the Heart Beat Movement, that uses live drumming, and have been studying the origins and power of rhythm through music therapists in ethnomusicologists for over 4 years (this took me to Ghana in 2017, where I began a documentary about the power of rhythm). I've worked as a drum teacher/facilitator with people of all ages, including with children and high school age children at the Assemblage through Project Remember and in the Bahamas with Lenny Kravitz and his foundation, Let Love Rule. Additionally, I've been a performer, playing with a variety of different types of bands for over 15 years.

How I Work

I had been playing in rock bands and realized that playing on stage, removed from the audience wasn't nearly as fulfilling as being hands on with the people around me. I got more enjoyment sharing my talents with others than just showing them off. I've found that there is real power in rhythm and giving people permission to explore that rhythm and express themselves through it has been such an epic journey.
