Psilocybin
-
Throughout my life I have worked to promote growth and healing in both the human and non-human world alike. I started this journey by spending over a decade working on a variety of endangered species recovery programs. I then completed a post graduate degree in education and spent three years as a teacher. While I highly valued contributing to the growth of young people, I felt like I could have a greater impact outside of the classroom. As a result, I spent the following six years as a work readiness program leader which transitioned into a role as a youth crisis intervention worker.
My path to facilitation began several years ago after the passing of my partner. Having long held a deep appreciation for entheogens, I decided to spend some time in South America working with traditional plant medicine as part of my personal healing journey. After experiencing the significant positive impact these medicines had on myself and others, I felt called to pursue facilitation. I was excited when measure 109 passed and provided me with the opportunity to practice facilitation within the context of my own community.
As a facilitator, I draw on my diversity of experience to provide a well-rounded and consistently supported journey that starts at intake and extends through integrating the psilocybin experience into daily life. Working hands-on with a wide variety of wildlife has honed my skills in nonverbal communication and empathy toward various forms of consciousness. My experience as a teacher allows me to fully educate and prepare clients for their psilocybin journey, and with developing achievable plans of integration that help ensure the experience has a lasting positive impact. My experience with at-risk populations and crisis intervention has made me well versed in providing trauma informed care, and in staying centered within myself during other people's storms so I can best help them pass through safely. My training to become a facilitator at the Changa Institute provided me with a strong knowledge of regulations, code of ethics, and best practices to ensure that all parties involved have a positive and legally protected experience.
While my ultimate hope is to help foster deep growth and healing within my clients, I also highly value psilocybin’s ability to strengthen connections between people and the natural world, a higher power, inspiration, insight, community, and ourselves. I am honored to be of service to this modality of healing and growth.
