This course is an introduction to substance use and addiction relevant to the expanded state experience, including red flags in the screening process, and special considerations with preparation and integration.
Topics covered in this course will include:
An introduction to substance use and addiction relevant to the expanded state experience, including red flags in the screening process, and special considerations with preparation and integration.
Current research on Psilocybin for support with addiction and substance abuse.
Widening the net of our understanding of substance abuse as an innate need to experience expanded states gone awry, and how to support the person in recovery through the framework of the Transpersonal and Holotropic perspectives.

Models of substance use, addiction, and recovery
Identification of client safety concerns, including medical history, contraindicated medication and psychological instability
Appropriate strategies to discuss client safety concerns, including but not limited to identification of client’s support system
Determination of whether a client should participate in an administration session
Identification of appropriate resources and referrals to assist client with integration, including: Interpreting feelings and emotions experienced during administration session
Facilitation of positive internal and external changes
Enhancement of existing supportive relationships
Identification of client safety concerns
Facilitator scope of practice
Discussion of appropriate intervals between administration sessions and related safety concerns
