Position Summary

The Clinical Supervision Program Manager develops and maintains programs that provide clinical supervision to clinicians delivering psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy in a MAPS therapeutic model.

Reporting to the Director and Head of Training and Supervision, the Clinical Supervision Program Manager will develop robust and sustainable clinical supervision programs in preparation for regulatory approval and expansion of psychedelic-assisted therapies and oversee the delivery of clinical supervision in psychedelic clinical research protocols. The work of this role is vital in MAPS PBC’s commitment to growing patient access,  clinical integrity, preparing a diverse and inclusive therapist workforce, and integrating equitable practices.

Location

This is a remote position that requires a suitable home office with a private and quiet area to work. Secure internet and reliable phone reception are required. This position requires frequent phone and internet meetings. Certain home office expenses may be reimbursed. A work computer will be provided.

Occasional travel may be required.

Hours

Full time 40 hours per week. Applicants must be available 40 hours a week, during normal business hours (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday-Friday ). The exact schedule may be arranged upon hire. Occasional weekend hours may be required with advance arrangement.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years experience with clinical practice, such as direct practice as a licensed psychotherapist or psychologist providing psychotherapy to clients, or administration in a clinical training, mental health service, or clinical supervision organization      
  • 2+ years experience in program and/or project management, including developing new programs in multi-site applications, managing timelines and projects, and creating policies and procedures
  • Preferred experience with clinical research
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and humility, including a commitment to curiosity and self-reflection
  • Demonstrate understanding of clinical standards of practice, clinical training, clinical supervision, licensing requirements, law and ethics related to mental health care
  • Master’s or Doctorate level degree, preferably in field of Psychology
  • 5+ years experience with clinical supervision, either as Supervisor, Supervisee and/or administrator in a clinical supervision program

Position Duties

Develop Clinical Supervision Program

  • Develop program to deliver clinical supervision to clinicians entering into practice with newly approved psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies, with a focus on MDMA-assisted psychotherapy
  • Design clinical supervision programs that satisfy MDMA Therapy Training Program certification requirements
  • Develop individual, group, and peer supervision and consultation structures
  • Develop procedures and policies governing clinical supervision and supervisory relationships in the MAPS modality
  • Develop programs that meet clinical, training, and certification needs globally

MAPS Supervisor Training Program

  • Develop and operate training program to prepare and certify supervisors working in a MAPS modality
  • Recruit qualified supervisor candidates following established procedures
  • Train supervisors on competencies of a MAPS supervisor working with psychedelic assisted therapies
  • Support supervisors in gaining and growing cultural awareness, cultural humility, and self-reflection
  • Train supervisors on ethical practices in clinical supervision
  • Train supervisors on policies and procedures for clinical supervision

Certify MAPS Supervisors

  • Oversee recruitment and training of supervisors in order to satisfy company goals for patient access, therapist training, diverse workforce, equitable practices, and delivery of care

Manage Clinical Supervision Programs Serving Clinical Research Protocols

  • Develop supervision plans for select clinical research protocols involving psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy
  • Support MAPS-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials
  • Collaborate with Adherence Rating program

Coordinate Clinical Supervisor Pool

  • Collaborate and consult with Mentor Supervisors
  • Collaborate with and guide Associate Supervisors
  • Develop resources to engage, support, and oversee MAPS Supervisors
  • Facilitate regular supervisor meetings
  • Develop ongoing education for MAPS Supervisors
  • Develop contractual agreements and guidelines for supervisor scope of work and supervision relationships
  • Monitor and support ethical practices in clinical supervision

Support Strategic Growth

  • Collaborate with Director and Head of Training and Supervision on market access and training growth strategies, including international strategies
  • Collaborate with outside organizations, community members, care providers, patients, advocates, and advisors
  • Coordinate efforts with credentialing board initiatives and with consideration for existing regulations and industry standards
  • Work with Director to develop long term goals and project plans to meet them
  • Engage in creative solution thinking to adapt programs to various cultures, regions, and regulatory requirements
  • Support inclusion, access, relevance, and integrity through individual work, management practices, and program design, delivery, and outcomes

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
