ROLE OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the COO, Field Trip is currently looking for a Human Resources leader to join our growing teams in Canada, the United States, Jamaica, and Europe. The ideal candidate can be located either in Toronto, ON or Remote (USA preferred). 

To succeed in the role, you must be tenacious, crave a challenge and love working with people. As Field Trip’s HR leader, you will be responsible for building and shaping HR strategies that directly support business growth, talent acquisition, compensation management, performance management, leadership coaching, organizational design and employee engagement. You will work in partnership with the Field Trip Leadership Team to proactively identify areas of improvement, advocate for employees and lead the shift from the current transactional/administrative set-up to a transformational strategic way of functioning, which is critical in building a positive, performance-oriented culture across each of our business units and Field Trip Health centers. Equally as importantly, you have a passion for changing the world and helping people live happier, healthier, more fulfilling lives, and don’t accept the status quo. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set recruitment and hiring strategies, and work with internal teams and hiring managers to lead the recruitment efforts and ensure successful execution of our hiring process
  • Establish, own and lead effective onboarding and off-boarding policies and practices
  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of employee benefit programs and recommend improvements to ensure cost efficiency and competitiveness
  • Support managers and oversee the Company’s performance management system, ensuring continuous improvement of employee performance and the development of goals that align with the organizational strategy 
  • Manage and maintain all HRIS systems and processes, ensuring database and changes are timely processed, and accurate reporting of HR metrics, including the maintenance of employee vacation and time-off requests and balances
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local requirements across each of our business units
  • Preparation of semi-monthly/bi-weekly payroll for review and submission by the Finance team 
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by management

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years experience as a human resources manager or director in a high-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree; CHRP designation
  • Working knowledge of Canadian & US employment law, health & safety, and human rights legislations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You thrive in a dynamic, team-based environment, including coaching others through change
  • Exceptional time management and ability to problem solve under pressure; innovative thinker with ability to operate in fast-paced environment
  • Start-up experience a plus
