Director, Program Manager

As Director, Program Manager, you will provide program management support to research and pre-clinical stage drug development programs and work alongside scientific program team leads to deliver on project/program plans, budget, and overall support ensuring alignment across functions and programs. The Program Manager plays a critical role in facilitating the use of processes and tools, risk assessment and mitigation, strategic plans, resource plans, cross-functional plans, and timelines across the programs. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who brings industry best practices and has a broad scope of R&D and pre-clinical experience in the biotech industry. This position may also be involved with other corporate activities as needed. This is a full-time position that will report to the Chief Medical Officer.

Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities are currently remote and can take place from the individual’s residence. Longer term the position may require an in-person presence (Massachusetts). Duties may include:

• Facilitates program management goals and provides leadership for lead compounds and near-term drug development programs through a cross functional team and facilitates information exchange between team members
• Develops comprehensive timelines ensuring all goals, budget, activities, and resources are aligned
• Facilitates and co-leads meetings to identify and work with team to resolve program related issues, manage timelines, and communicate progress and critical path items
• Prepares needed status reports and presentations required for regular reporting to Senior Management and other key stakeholders
• Apply advanced program management tools and tools to anticipate, identify, and mitigate program risks and drive scenario planning activities
• Support external vendor and CRO program partnerships

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in science or health related field, PhD preferred, MS or MBA considered
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience in the biotech, pharma, or related industries; start-up experience preferred
• Expert understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, tools, and standards of Project/Program Management
• Experience in CNS, small molecule or rare disease preferred
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
