Launch Editor, Psychedelics

Emerald is seeking a Launch Editor to develop and execute content strategy for a new brand launch within the business of Psychedelic Medicine.
 

This brand will consist of both live and digital events along with media products that build, connect and educate diverse communities that responsibly grow the business of Psychedelics. This new brand will provide a place to learn, network, and ultimately advance Psychedelics through connections and commerce. We’ll bring the innovators and disruptors together - including investors, drug research and discovery companies, providers, payors, legislators, and thought leaders - with the common goal of increasing access to Psychedelics in the United States.
 

The Launch Editor is a unique opportunity to envision and create this brand’s media voice from scratch. You’ll determine the content strategy and coverage will likely include a combination of news and analysis, benchmarking reports, and evergreen content, as well as other types of media including video and webinars. We have a digital-first mindset in building this brand, and most content will be short-form.
 

In addition to creating the vision, this role will engage and manage contractors and new team members, create and analyze content across multiple mediums, and find the resources necessary to become an authoritative voice on the topics that are most relevant to our audience.
 

• Develop and align content strategy with overall brand launch timeline and goals
• Execute content strategy by:
  • Writing and editing different types of content, ranging from mobile-friendly news briefs to analytical web/print magazine articles
  • Produce at daily newspaper pace, on deadline, with accuracy and using AP style
  • Select stories and angles that will be of the most interest to business readers
  • Lead execution of digital formats including but not limited to podcasts and webinars
  • Engage and manage freelancers as necessary
• Foster and maintain professional relationships with key corporate executives and regulators
• Work easily with colleagues across the globe, in media and events.
• Generate your own story ideas
• Support the team with editing, proof reading as needed
• Direct conference programmers to hot topics and great speakers

• Business and financial reporting/content creation experience with a demonstrable track record of producing content for high-level executives in a variety of formats and across different mediums
• Professional reporting and editing experience for a B2B publication with proven accuracy and ability to follow editorial guidelines and copy rule
• Experience in multimedia content creation
• Working knowledge of SEO and content analytics
• Knowledge in the Breakthrough Medicine or Psychedelic Medicine space with an established social network preferred
• Experience launching new content offerings such as a newsletter, report series, webinar series, etc and/or event experience preferred
• Familiarity with WordPress and basic image editing tools
• Ability to travel (<5% of the time)
