Since our public listing in May 2020, we have been creating the building blocks to the foundation of our company with the goal of providing access to safe, evidence-based use of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies. These building blocks include:
- Raising $27.5m during 2020 for our growth aspirations;
- The acquisition of an established full service psychology clinic operation in Montreal to add to our presence in Vancouver;
- A collaboration with MAPS Public Benefit Corporation to seek approval to deliver MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD through a single arm open label trial;
- A signed agreement with Syreon to undertake a compassionate access clinical trial of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for substance use disorders;
- Becoming the 1st Canadian public company to legally harvest Psilocybe Mushrooms.
Numinus is expanding to find a vision and mission aligned person to join the team as our People Operations Manager. Job summary
- Development and management of People and Talent activities for Numinus including workforce planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and compensation and benefits;
- Facilitate, administer, and develop talent development programs such as onboarding, learning & development, performance management, career development, and health & wellness.
- Ensure legal compliance of all People and Talent processes and activities and assume a lead role on change initiatives and best practice applications;
- Oversee the development of all job descriptions, organizational charts and salary tiers ensuring the current structure properly supports business needs;
- Monitor employee engagement and address any satisfaction issues;
- Manage the recruitment forecast and all recruiting activities based on the current budget, where a budget does not exist ensure a business case for the position is in place and approved prior to recruitment;
- Work with the management team to create a positive work environment where employees are engaged and contributing to the overall success of the Project in a manner consistent with the company’s core values;
- Work alongside the Changement Management and People Culture Manager and the communications department to manage change, employee engagement, and the implementation of corporate culture elements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to department managers on employee performance improvement and disciplinary protocols.
- Oversee the relationship with Numinus’s exclusive recruitment and search firm.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development.
- 8-10 years’ experience in Human Resources with 3 years of experience in a management role or equivalent in a rapid-changing, high-growth start-up environment.
- In-depth knowledge of domestic and international Human Resource processes, employment legislation, and legal regulations.
- Sense of ownership and pride in HR expertise, performance, and its impact on the organization’s success.
- Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) designations are considered an asset;
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A high level of integrity and accountability;
- Highly influential with strong facilitation, negotiation and management skills;
- Strong decision making and judgment skills with a keen sense of ethics.
- You are experienced with Google Suite, Slack, HRIS, and Performance Management software.
- You enjoy the challenge of change management and have the ability to bring people together to strive towards a common mission.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- You can take a big picture perspective to identify and stay focused on what is most important, then dive in on the details to plan, develop, and execute seamlessly. You get excited at the idea of creating a program from scratch, implementing it, and supporting its impact on the organization.
- You thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, startup environment. You are highly motivated, dedicated, and comfortable with change and ambiguity.

Location
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, you will initially be required to set up an office in your home in order to carry out the accountabilities of your role. Numinus will provide you with a laptop. Should you require other equipment for your role, you will work closely with your manager.
