ATAI is a Berlin, New York, and London based biotech company builder leveraging a decentralized, data-driven platform model with the aim of ultimately healing mental health disorders. We are dedicated to bringing innovation to mental healthcare, a field that has seen little progress since the development of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) in the 1980s and 1990s, respectively.

We now have ten companies in our portfolio developing innovative solutions in mental healthcare, including COMPASS Pathways (psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression), DemeRx (ibogaine for opioid use disorder), and EntheogeniX (leveraging AI and computational biophysics to develop the next generation of psychedelics).  

The Project Manager - Product Development is responsible for providing cross-functional program leadership to ensure projects achieve desired outcomes on time and within budget from product definition through product commercialization. We are seeking a strong cross-functional leader with a hands-on approach, with excellent decision making and prioritizing ability. This person will be responsible for ensuring the timely development and successful implementation of best practices in agile cross-functional team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels effectively, including executives and outside parties
• Publish routine dashboards and reports that effectively communicate progress, risk, and achievements of the overall portfolio. Leverages technology to drive a data-driven and risk-based approach to socializing progress, risks, and achievements within the programs.
• Familiar with agile software development practices
• Oversee all phases of the product development process from concept to Launch, with an excellent understanding of Design Control principles.
• Experienced at leading complex programs delivering milestones on time and on budget with quality per customer expectations. Skilled in project planning, risk management, project execution, and communication to all levels of the organization.
• Manage resources to deliver program status
• Take ownership of hands-on management and tracking of overall team progress and provide detailed management status reports and updates.
• Effectively manage multiple small projects or one large project
• Drives for accountability within self and others  

Qualifications 

• Product Development Project Management experience from company/industry with quality controls (see below)
• Experienced in medical device or FDA-cleared product development
• Experience in Quality System Regulations (QSR) 21 CFR 820 and Design Control: ISO 13485:2003
• You have a strong track record in contributing to cross-functional teams in advancing projects
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• You are highly empathetic with an outstanding ability to work multi-culturally
• You are willing to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and to adapt to new situations as they arise
